We are a team of passionate individuals that have been providing housing in Halifax since the 1950s while growing our real estate portfolio with a focus on sustainable design.

We're actively involved in real estate, doing everything from developing and acquiring properties to managing them. Our buildings are conveniently located close to downtown, universities, and city amenities. Some of our prime sites are in the Hydrostone Marketplace and the Quinpool Road Shopping District.

As we expand, we're committed to offering great rental spaces in sought-after areas at competitive prices.

  • Peppermint Properties manages a wide variety of rental units. We have properties ranging in size from studios to five-bedrooms all of which are ideally located in convenient locales around the city. Some locations are close to universities and colleges, which are largely occupied by academics. Others are located centrally and in the north end, which are boutique properties rich in character. These properties are rented by a wide range of people from young working professionals to retired individuals.

  • We require applicants to complete our rental application listed on this website. On this form, we require your personal information (name, DOB), employment or educational background, insight into your rental history, and a reference from a current/previous landlord or a professional contact. For those who may not be financially independent, we would also request a co-signer to complete a Co-Sign Agreement to be submitted with their application.

  • We invite prospective tenants to complete the rental application listed on our website. Upon receiving the completed application, it is processed through our office. This involves reaching out to the applicant's references to ensure the accuracy and authenticity of the provided information. If approved, successful applicants will receive an email invitation to proceed with the lease signing process.

  • All of our buildings are cat friendly, with a limit of one cat per apartment unless the tenant receives written permission stating otherwise. Our only dog friendly building at this time is located at 1949 Oxford Street.
